The “horseface” epithet notwithstanding, I intended this likeness less as a pejorative satire and more as a tribute to a man whose facial anatomy is honestly among the finest, most noble specimens the artist has ever seen. He does bear a resemblance to a horse, but only in the sense that he has the structure and bearing of a towering steed.
